The GARD ommittee together with the GRC recognized during the GARD conference in Knoxville TN August 10, 2022, Dr. Gregory V. Chinchar for his pioneering research on ranavirus as well as his dedication in training and educating the next generation of virologists by a Life Time Achievement Award. The distinction was remitted by the current GRC director Dr. Jacques Robert.
